does survey scout (www.surveyscout.com) really work?
has anyone done this before? does it work? are there catches? please give me any info about it. thanks
I have done Survey Scout. It can work (a bit) if you're willing to put a substantial amount of time into it (a few hours a day), but you're certainly not going to get rich from it.
First you need to register with several different survey companies (this is essentially the service that Survey Scout provides...names and contacts of the survey companies) You fill out profiles with them which takes quite a bit of time. But once you do this the surveys that are tailored to you start coming in.
Some of the companies work with a points system to reward you (ex. you fill out 1 survey and receive 2 points. Once you get to 10 points you can exchange for money or products). Others work on drawings (ex. fill out a survey and you're entered into a drawing for $100 or a $100 gift certificate). And some simply pay cash per survey (typically $1 to $2 per). The online surveys run anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. You may also qualify for phone surveys, or in-person surveys and test groups. These pay substantially more but are few and far between and take much more time (and energy) to complete.
I would say that if you're diligent about it you can average maybe $1 per 10 minutes of work once you start taking the online surveys. And actually, I won a $100 Amazon gift certificate once, so it is possible to win the drawings. Of course the more you do the better chance of winning you have.
That said, I lost interest in it in about a month : )
Very important, you will get a ton of spam from this, so make sure you set up and use an email address specific to this. Do not use your regular email address.
Bottom line...if you've got some time on your hands, and you're looking to supplement your income a little bit, this could help. If you're looking to supplement your income a lot, this will not help...
